Jr. Law Enforcement Academy
This innovative program introduces young adults to the fascinating career of law enforcement and is sure to have a positive impact for years to come. The students will participate in specially tailored law enforcement training to include crime scene investigations, rappelling, marching, pursuit driving, fitness training and several other topics. The average GPA for last year's attendees was an outstanding 3.2. There will be two academy sessions with thirty positions in each.
The Program is FREE.

Free Karate Classes

Free ongoing Karate classes for all ages are available from NMSPAL. Classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and taught by the world class instructor Sensei Jack James, a 9th degree Black Belt with 37 years experience as a Karate instructor. The classes are held at the NMSPAL facility at 2704 Girard Blvd. NE. Call 505-254-4805 for more information.

Coalition of State PALS' - New Mexico, California, Florida and New Jersey
"The Coalition of State PALS' has received support from the United States Congress for FY 2006 to implement a Law Enforcement Gang Prevention-Intervention Program that will deal with gang violence, drive-by shootings and drug-related murders that are impacting our states. The Coalition believe's that with the implementation of this significant program, the partnership will be able to unite in dealing with these critical issues plaguing our local communities. The overall goal of the Coalition is to foster collaboration in addressing issues important to their memberships in the field of crime prevention and education."
